Our History
A legacy of service spanning five decades
Emmanuel’s Ministries has faithfully served the community of Bombardopolis, Haiti for more than five decades. Founded in the early 1970s by Pastor Maurancy, and later joined by co-founder Rev. Charles Chatman, the ministry was built on a shared vision to bring spiritual guidance, hope, and holistic support to communities throughout Northwest Haiti.
What began as a small, faith-driven mission quickly grew into a powerful movement for community transformation. Over the years, Emmanuel’s Ministries established 38 churches across the region—each serving not only as a place of worship, but also as a center for encouragement, unity, and local development. As the needs of the community became more evident, the ministry expanded further by founding an orphanage and a school, providing shelter, education, and loving care to children who otherwise would have gone without these essential supports.
As Pastor Maurancy prepared for retirement, leadership of the orphanage and school was entrusted to his fourth son, Frankie Maurancy, who stepped into the role with humility, dedication, and a deep commitment to carrying the mission forward. Under his leadership, both the orphanage and school have continued to grow and flourish, strengthening the foundation laid by the ministry’s founders.
In loving memory of Pastor Charles Chatman
1941-2021
Oversight of the churches was placed in the capable hands of Pastor Keda, whose faithful leadership has ensured that the churches remain vibrant and impactful—continuing to serve congregations and surrounding communities with consistency and care.
Today, Emmanuel’s Ministries stands as a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and shared vision. For more than fifty years, it has touched countless lives through spiritual leadership, education, and compassionate service. As it looks to the future, the ministry remains steadfast in its calling to serve the people of Northwest Haiti—faithfully carrying forward the values and mission established by Pastor Maurancy and Rev. Charles Chatman.
