College Evangelique Baptiste Emmanuel was the first school to provide high school education to the community. For many years, Bombardopolis only had access to primary education and once that finished there was no further continuing education past grade 6th (primary). Thankfully, Papa Francois followed the calling the Lord placed in his heart to open up the High school. With the recruitment of educators from other cities like Port au Prince, the high school level of College Evangelique Baptiste Emmanuel opened its doors and has been preparing teens for college for decades. In fact, many of the teachers that are currently at the school graduated from Emmanuel and went on to study education. They have since come back to pass their knowledge and passion for education on to the next generations.

Due to the level of poverty and remote location of Bombardopolis, there are not many educational or job opportunities post high school for graduates. Some teens will go to Port Au Prince to study at a University, many will go to a trade school (nails, hair, hospitality), and the bulk of the graduates will stay locally learning to make charcoal for a living. We believe in the power of education in order to open the doors to a brighter future for our students.
Secondary School Tuition and Fees
The cost of 2023-2024 tuition for our secondary students is $125 per student, per academic year. This does not include the uniform, socks, shoes, textbooks, backpack and supplies, which amounts to $145 per student, per academic year. What we have learned over the years is that some families may be able to pay for their child's tuition, but cannot afford the other expenses (uniform, books, shoes, etc). Therefore that child misses out on an opportunity to receive an education. You may ask why are uniforms mandatory if families cannot afford it? Imagine if your child had only one outfit, or even no clothes to wear to school, uniforms act as an equalizer among students. Haitians take a lot of pride in their uniforms. Our goal this year is to bridge the gap between affording tuition and the fees that go along with attending school. We have created a scholarship program, to help assist those families during these tough times and to allow more children the opportunity to have an education.
Support our Secondary (High School)
Sponsor a ScholarshipGive the gift of education to a teen in need through a one time or monthly sponsorship. Your sponsorship will help alleviate some of that stress many parents face when they must make the decision between sending their teen to school or feeding their family. Our secondary tuition is $125 per student, per academic year. The needs are endless, but changing the cycle of poverty in Haiti begins with Education!

Give Teachers a BonusConsider supporting our secondary school teachers with a bonus. They are some of the hardest working teachers in the region and have a very important job of setting these young adults up for success post graduation. They work longer hours than our primary and kindergarten teachers, as classes for our secondary students go later. Unfortunately, their monthly salary currently does not reflect the extra hours and stressful demands of teaching high school students.

Support Trade SchoolWe have witnessed first-hand the positive impact that skill training has had on our children at our orphanage. We feel compelled to be able to do the same for our students and children in the community. We are blessed by already having a building structure that can be used for a trade school and it is our hope to one day be able to restore and equip it to provide an official trade school to the community. For now, we ask for your support and prayers. We would like to start offering Saturday School to educate the youth on a variety of different trades, mechanics, welding, solar, technology, etc.
